Welcome
Greetings from Nick & Christina Markakis

Thank you for taking the time to visit RightSideFoundation.org. We are grateful for how the community has embraced The Right Side Foundation, and we look forward to joining with you to help even more children in 2011.
We decided to start our Foundation as a way for us to most effectively give back to a community that has given so much to our family. Children are very important to both of us. In our sons, Taylor and Tucker, we see innocence and great promise…two things that every child should enjoy.
The lifestyle of professional sports provides us with a unique opportunity to have a wide-ranging impact upon others, and who better than to benefit from the Foundation’s efforts than children in our adopted state of Maryland. Regardless of whether a child is sick, grieving, lonely or disadvantaged, they deserve the opportunity to enjoy the positives of childhood and have the resources available to help them develop as a person. The interaction we have with children today will shape the lives they live tomorrow.
We hope you will enjoy this site and support our efforts to grow The Right Side Foundation by joining our team in some capacity. Remember, each of us can be an All-Star MVP in the life of a child.
All the best,

Congratulations to Kelly!

Congratulations to Kelly S. from Windsor, Pa. The 13-year old is the winner of an autographed Nick Markakis action photo. She entered our drawing at The Right Side Foundation’s booth during the Baltimore Orioles’ 2011 FanFest and was chosen from more than 400 entries.
We appreciate everyone who entered that day and stopped by our area to learn more about the Foundation. We look forward to seeing you in the community this season.
2010 In Review

Nick has continued to succeed as a leader both on and off the field – for the Orioles in 2010. The right fielder led the team in batting average (.297), and hits (187), while finishing fifth in the majors in doubles (45). Markakis is only the third player in baseball history to hit 43 or more doubles in four straight seasons, joining Hall of Famers Joe Medwick (1935-1939) and Tris Speaker (1920-1923).
